About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and prepare fabrication drawings for LV control panels using CAD software.
Interpret and apply Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and General Arrangement (GA) drawings for mechanical layouts.
Design accurate mounting arrangements for switchgear components from reputed brands such as Schneider Electric, L&T, ABB, Siemens, and Legrand.
Apply knowledge of IP protection standards (IP31 to IP65) in enclosure and panel design.
Collaborate with fabrication, pre-assembly, and final assembly teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Coordinate with vendors for outsourced operations like punching, bending, and sheet metal fabrication.
Maintain detailed project records, including design revisions, approvals, and updates.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and internal quality protocols.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to optimizing design efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in LV panel design and fabrication.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD tools.
Strong understanding of electromechanical components and panel layout design principles.
Familiarity with IEC standards, IP ratings, and safety requirements.
Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ERP systems for project tracking and documentation.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
